New Delhi, 27 December (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu will commence a significant four-day official visit to Goa, Karnataka, and Jharkhand from December 27 to 30, 2025, engaging with maritime prowess, indigenous heritage, and academic excellence across these regions.

Inaugural Journey to Goa

President Murmu will depart for Goa on the evening of Saturday, December 27, marking the onset of her tour that underscores national integration through diverse engagements.

Naval Milestone at Karwar

On Sunday, December 28, the President will undertake a pioneering sea sortie aboard an Indian Navy submarine from Karwar Harbour in Karnataka, a strategic base under Project Seabird—the largest naval infrastructure initiative in the Eastern Hemisphere.

This rare underwater demonstration of combat capabilities will position her as only the second Indian President to experience such an expedition, following Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in 2006.

Cultural and Academic Engagements in Jamshedpur

Shifting to Jharkhand on Monday, December 29, President Murmu will grace the centenary celebrations of the Ol Chiki script at Jamshedpur, honouring its creator Pandit Raghunath Murmu who invented this indigenous writing system in 1925 to preserve Santhali language and tribal identity.

Later that day, she will address the 15th convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, where approximately 1,080 students across B.Tech, M.Sc., MCA, Ph.D., and M.Tech programs will receive degrees.

Cultural Finale in Gumla

The tour will culminate on Tuesday, December 30, with an address at the Antarrajyiy Jansanskritik Samagam Samaroh—Kartik Jatra in Gumla, Jharkhand, a prominent inter-state tribal gathering from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha that celebrates ancient folk traditions and community heritage.
