
New Delhi, 21 December (H.S.): India's victorious blind women's cricket team, champions of the inaugural Blind Women's T20 World Cup, visited the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai on December 19, where officials warmly welcomed them, offered congratulations on their triumph, and extended best wishes for future endeavors.
BCCI stated on Sunday that Treasurer Raghuram Bhat hosted the full squad, engaging in discussions with captain Deepika TC, fellow players, and support staff, conveying felicitations on behalf of all at BCCI.Secretary Devjit Saikia addressed the team virtually, assuring provision of kits and travel support for their upcoming tours.
Saikia remarked, Indian women's cricket is experiencing a golden era, with Harmanpreet Kaur's team winning the ICC Women's World Cup and Deepika TC securing victory in the first Blind Women's T20 World Cup—this has been a splendid performance.
BCCI President Mithun Manhas called it a historic moment for the nation, urging players to reach new heights. Vice President Rajeev Shukla congratulated Deepika and her team, noting the achievement as a proud milestone inspiring millions.
Treasurer Raghuram Bhat described hosting them as a privilege, praising their mental fortitude and fighting spirit. Joint Secretary Prabhteja Singh Bhatia hailed 2025's unprecedented women's cricket successes.
India had defended an unbeaten record in the final, chasing Nepal's 114 for five (20 overs) with 117 for three in 12.1 overs, securing a seven-wicket victory.
