DA Case: Vigilance Raids Forest Range Officer’s Properties In Jagatsinghpur


Bhubaneswar, 20 December (H.S.) : Odisha Vigilance on Saturday launched simultaneous searches at four locations in Jagatsinghpur district in connection with allegations of possession of disproportionate assets against a Forest Range Officer.

According to an official press release, the searches are being conducted against Sri Rajendra Kumar Samantray, Forest Range Officer of Rahama Forest Range in Jagatsinghpur district, following allegations that he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The searches commenced on December 20, 2025, after search warrants were issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. A Vigilance team comprising two Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl SPs), five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), eight Inspectors, along with other supporting officers and staff, is carrying out the operation.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted at a residential triple-storeyed building located at Chatara in Jagatsinghpur, a double-storeyed house at the officer’s native village Samantarayapur under Dondo police station, the office of the Forest Range at Sampur in Jagatsinghpur under Cuttack Forest Division, and the government quarter situated within the Jagatsinghpur Forest Range campus.

Vigilance officials said the searches are continuing and further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
