New Delhi, 19 December (H.S.): Leading asset management company ICICI Prudential AMC, which claims to manage the highest number of schemes in India’s mutual fund industry, made a robust debut on the stock exchanges on Friday, bringing cheer to its IPO investors.

Shares of ICICI Prudential AMC were issued at ₹2,165 per share under its initial public offering (IPO). Upon listing, the stock opened with a premium of nearly 20 percent, debuting at ₹2,606.20 on the BSE and ₹2,600 on the NSE. Driven by strong buying interest, the stock surged to an intraday high of ₹2,663.40 before slight profit booking trimmed gains.

By 10:30 a.m., the stock was trading at ₹2,577, giving early investors an impressive 19.03 percent listing-day return.The company’s ₹10,602.65 crore IPO, open for subscription from December 12 to 16, received a robust investor response, being subscribed 39.17 times overall.

The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) portion was subscribed 123.87 times, the Non-Institutional Investor (NII) category 22.04 times, the Retail Investor category 2.53 times, and the Shareholder portion 9.75 times.

Unlike fresh issues, this IPO was entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS), involving the sale of 48,972,994 equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each. Consequently, proceeds from the issue did not go to the company but to the selling shareholder, Prudential Corporation Holdings Limited.

According to the company’s Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) filed with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), ICICI Prudential AMC’s financial health has shown consistent improvement. The company reported a net profit of ₹1,515.78 crore in FY 2022–23, which rose to ₹2,049.73 crore in FY 2023–24, and further jumped to ₹2,650.66 crore in FY 2024–25.

During this period, total revenue expanded at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 32 percent, reaching ₹4,979.67 crore.In the first half of FY 2025–26 (April–September 2025), ICICI Prudential AMC recorded a net profit of ₹1,617.74 crore and total income of ₹2,949.61 crore. As of the end of September 2025, the company’s reserves and surplus stood at ₹3,903.91 crore, reflecting a strong and stable financial position.
