For PSG, the year 2025 will be remembered as a truly monumental one. Under Enrique’s guidance, the French giants completed a historic treble in the 2024–25 season, securing their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, followed by domestic triumphs — capping the year with the Intercontinental Cup victory to seal a perfect conclusion.

The final, played in Al Rayyan, ended 1–1 in regulation time before heading into penalties, where Russian goalkeeper Matvei Safonov emerged as the hero. The 25-year-old pulled off four sensational saves in the shootout, helping PSG clinch a 2–1 win and etch their name into global football history.

We are overjoyed — for ourselves, for the club, and most importantly, for our supporters. It’s an amazing feeling, and we must continue progressing with the same mindset.”

He further added, “We feel deeply connected to our fans — whether we play at Parc des Princes or away from home, their support follows us everywhere. Now, we’ll take a short break after our upcoming Coupe de France fixture, and then enjoy Christmas rest. Our squad has a perfect blend of youth and experience, and we’re very satisfied with that balance.”

PSG midfielder Vitinha was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the final. He received the award from FIFA President Gianni Infantino.Sharing his excitement, Vitinha said, “It’s an unbelievable feeling. This was a crucial final, and we’re thrilled to have won it.
