Kolkata, 18 December (H.S.) : Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Rao Bhagwat, will participate in a full-day programme in Kolkata on Sunday, December 21. The event, held at the Science City complex, will feature two major addresses by Bhagwat on the occasion of the RSS centenary. His speeches will focus on the organisation’s century-long social journey, the principle of nation-building through individual development, and the goal of a prosperous India through a united Hindu society.

Viplav Roy, co-propagation head of South Bengal, told Hindusthan Samachar that all preparations for Bhagwat’s visit have been completed. During his stay in Kolkata, he will also meet the city’s intellectual community and participate in interactive discussions.

Bhagwat’s Kolkata visit forms a key part of the RSS centenary celebrations. Prior to this, he attended centenary events organised by the North Bengal region in Siliguri on December 18 and 19, which included a youth conference and a discussion on the 100-year journey of the RSS. These programmes saw participation from eight districts of North Bengal and the neighbouring state of Sikkim, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to service, discipline, and dedication.

In his first address at Science City, Bhagwat is expected to outline how the RSS established its presence among India’s populace over the past century and emphasise the organisation’s continuous work driven by sacrifice, dedication, and patriotism under the principle of nation-building through individual development. He will also underline the RSS’s role in social, cultural, and national development.

The second address will focus on the vision for building a prosperous India through a united society, highlighting efforts to strengthen social harmony, cultural awareness, and national unity. Bhagwat will engage with Kolkata’s intellectual community during interactive sessions to discuss contemporary national issues.

Founded on Vijayadashami in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS has, over a century, aimed to organise Hindu society and contribute to nation-building. The centenary celebrations across the country showcase the organisation’s journey, ideology, and work. Kolkata’s event is part of this wider campaign, reflecting the RSS’s ideological and social influence in eastern India.
