New Delhi, 18 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the closing ceremony of the Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event marks another milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a global leader in traditional medicine and integrative healthcare.

The Summit, themed “Restoring Balance: The Science and Practice of Health and Well-being,” is jointly organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Over three days, the conference has brought together global leaders, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to discuss pathways for advancing people-centred, evidence-driven, and sustainable traditional medicine systems worldwide.

As part of the closing ceremony, the Prime Minister will unveil several flagship Ayush initiatives. Among the most significant is the “My Ayush Integrated Services Portal (MAISP),” envisioned as a comprehensive digital platform for the Ayush sector, promoting accessibility, transparency, and innovation. He will also launch the “Ayush Mark,” a new global benchmark for certifying the quality of Ayush products and services, underscoring India’s commitment to international standards.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new WHO South-East Asia Regional Office Complex in Delhi, which will also house the WHO India Country Office—a key step reflecting India’s strengthening partnership with the global health body.

The Prime Minister will also release several important publications, including the WHO Technical Report on Training in Yoga and a commemorative book titled “From Roots to Global Reach: 11 Years of Transformation in Ayush.”

To celebrate India’s rich medicinal heritage, he will unveil a postal stamp dedicated to Ashwagandha, a symbolic tribute to the country’s traditional healing wisdom.

Another highlight of the ceremony will be the presentation of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Promotion and Development of Yoga (2021–2025), honouring individuals and organisations for their dedication to advancing Yoga globally.

Later, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the Traditional Medicine Discovery Space, an interactive exhibition showcasing the diversity, innovation, and scientific contributions of traditional medical knowledge from India and other parts of the world. The event is expected to reinforce India's pioneering role in bridging traditional wisdom with modern science and in promoting holistic well-being on a global scale.
