Bhubaneswar, 18 December (H.S.) : In a major boost to emergency healthcare infrastructure in the state capital, a dedicated ambulance corridor will be constructed from Khandagiri to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said on Thursday.
According to the minister, the National Highways (NH) authorities will build a three-lane service road from Khandagiri to Kalinga Nagar, with one lane exclusively reserved for ambulances. The initiative is aimed at ensuring faster and unobstructed movement of ambulances, particularly during medical emergencies, enabling patients to reach AIIMS without delays.
The proposal, submitted by the Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, has received approval at a Works Department review meeting, clearing the way for the project’s implementation.
Once completed, the corridor is expected to significantly improve response times for emergency medical services and strengthen the overall healthcare and transport infrastructure of Bhubaneswar.
