Jammu, 18 December (H.S.): Senior BJP leaders strongly criticized the Congress party over its statements on the Vaishno Devi Medical College admissions controversy, accusing the opposition of spreading misinformation and indulging in divisive communal politics.
J&K BJP spokespersons, Dr. Tahir Chowdhary and Rajni Sethi accompanied by Media in charge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra while addressing a press conference at party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, here, described Congress as a party with a long history of misleading the public.
“The Congress party’s agenda has always been to confuse and mislead the people of India. They have consistently tried to malign the Government and target the BJP. Even abroad, they have sought to insult the nation. Their leadership is in chaos, and even their own workers question the party’s direction,” said Tahir Chowdhary.
He criticized Congress’s handling of issues in the region, particularly the ongoing controversy regarding admissions to the Vaishno Devi Medical College.
“The BJP has never discriminated against students based on religion. Whether they are Kashmiri or from Jammu, we have always worked to ensure that their careers are protected. The Vaishno Devi Medical College issue is being resolved carefully. The affected students will be shifted to other reputable institutions. But Congress continues to create confusion and target the party unnecessarily,” he added.
Rajni Sethi asserted that Congress is attempting to exploit religious differences in Jammu and Kashmir for political gains.
“Congress has always tried to divide India on communal lines to serve vote-bank politics. They are attempting to repeat the same here under the pretext of student admissions. BJP’s stance is clear – no student’s career should be jeopardized, and no communal divide should be created,” Sethi said.
