Chennai, 18 December (H.S.) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu unit has strongly countered the allegations made by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin regarding the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission-Gramin (VB G RAM G). Addressing the criticisms, party leaders emphasized that the new legislation is a transformative step towards strengthening the rural economy and enhancing the livelihoods of workers.
The party clarified that the bill provides a statutory guarantee of one hundred twenty-five days of wage employment annually, which is a significant increase from the previous one hundred days offered under the older scheme. They accused the DMK government of spreading misinformation to create unnecessary fear among the rural population for political gains.
Responding to the concerns over funding, the TN BJP on X (https://x.com/BJP4TamilNadu/status/2001598641681895804?s=20) stated that the sixty-forty cost-sharing model between the Center and states is designed to ensure better accountability and cooperative federalism. They pointed out that the Union government has committed more than ninety-five thousand crore rupees towards the implementation of this mission, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to rural development.
According to party authorities, the new Act focuses on creating durable community assets such as water security infrastructure and climate-resilient projects, rather than just providing temporary manual labor. They maintained that the transition to a modern statutory framework is essential to achieve the goal of a developed India by the year two thousand forty-seven.
The party also dismissed claims of hostility towards national icons, stating that the new mission is deeply rooted in the vision of self-reliant villages. Leaders argued that the focus should be on the benefits reaching the poor rather than engaging in linguistic or nomenclature politics.
They highlighted that the integration of national spatial systems like PM Gati-Shakti would make the implementation more transparent and efficient. The BJP urged the state government to cooperate in the implementation of the scheme to ensure that the people of Tamil Nadu can benefit from the increased workdays and improved rural infrastructure being planned under the new national mission.
