Guwahati, 18 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s objective is not limited to winning 100 Assembly seats, but to secure more than 50% of the total vote share in the state. He said the BJP-led alliance is working with this broader goal in mind while shaping its electoral strategy.

Speaking in a lighter vein, the Chief Minister remarked that achieving the target does not require holding meetings in hotels. “To relieve stress, it is enough for me to watch Akhil Gogoi’s Facebook Live. I am a big fan of Akhil Gogoi,” Sarma said, triggering political buzz over his remarks.

Taking a dig at the opposition, Dr. Sarma said that while opposition parties are still struggling to prepare themselves for the elections, the BJP is gearing up to enter the fray with a clear and comprehensive strategy. He indicated that the party’s election campaign would become sharper in the days ahead.----------
