18 Dec (HS): Translating the Yogi government's vision of swadeshi,
self-employment and self-reliant India into reality, a grand 10-day divisional
level Khadi and Village Industries Exhibition-2025 is being organised at the
Central Sanskrit University, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow campus under the aegis of the
Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board. This exhibition will be open
to the public from December 18 to 27 2025, in which a total of 130 stalls of
products related to Khadi, Village Industries and Pottery have been set up.
The
exhibition was inaugurated by Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister and
Lucknow District In-charge Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna by cutting the ribbon
at the main gate. On the occasion, he garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi,
inspected the exhibition, and praised the products displayed at various stalls.
In his address, he stated that Khadi is a symbol of India's independence,
homeland, and self-reliance. Mahatma Gandhi, through the spinning wheel, showed
the common people the path to self-reliance, a reality that is now being
realized under the leadership of the Yogi government. Under the guidance of Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, continuous work is
being done towards cleanliness, promoting indigenous products, creating
self-employment, and empowering youth. The Khadi and Village Industries
Department is playing a vital role in achieving this goal.
Leather
products, Bhadohi carpets, pottery and home decor items made from clay art,
Amla Murabba from Pratapgarh, silk and silk sarees from Varanasi, Bikaneri
papad and namkeen from Rajasthan, coats from Uttarakhand, various types of
bedsheets and handicraft based textiles are the center of attraction in the
exhibition. The exhibition is not only providing quality indigenous products to
the consumers but is also providing a strong marketing platform to the artisans
and entrepreneurs.
On
this occasion, Khadi Board's Joint Chief Executive Officer Siddharth Yadav,
Financial Advisor Manvendra Singh, Regional Village Industries Officer Ajay
Pal, District Village Industries Officer Awadhesh Gautam along with other
officers and employees of the department were present.
