Islamabad, 17 December (H.S.): The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Wednesday prolonged its airspace restrictions on Indian-registered aircraft until January 23, preempting the expiry of the prior ban by a week, as notified in an official directive.
The PAA announcement, reported by Dawn newspaper, stipulates that Pakistan's airspace—divided between Karachi and Lahore flight information regions—remains off-limits to all Indian-owned, operated, leased commercial flights, and military operations alike. This extension follows the April terror attack in India's Pahalgam, allegedly Pakistan-sponsored, which claimed 26 lives and precipitated mutual punitive measures, including airspace prohibitions, amid peaked bilateral hostilities.
