New Delhi, 14 December (H.S.):

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green on Sunday confirmed that he will be available to bowl in the upcoming 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), dismissing rumours that he had registered for the tournament solely as a specialist batter.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Australia’s training session in Adelaide, Green explained that the confusion arose from a clerical error made during the player registration process. “I’m ready to bowl,” he told ESPNcricinfo.

“I’m not sure if my manager will like hearing this, but it was actually his mistake. He didn’t mean to select the ‘batter only’ option — I think he just ticked the wrong box by accident. It’s all quite funny in hindsight, but yes, it was definitely an error from his end.”

Green, 26, has established himself as one of the most promising fast-bowling all-rounders in international cricket. He previously represented the Mumbai Indians in the 2023 season and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2024, emerging as a key attraction in the IPL.

With a base price of ₹2 crore, he remains one of the marquee names heading into the mini auction scheduled for December 16 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The tall right-hander missed the 2025 IPL season after undergoing back surgery but made his international comeback as a pure batter earlier this year.

Having regained full bowling fitness, Green is now featuring as a pace option for Australia in the ongoing Ashes series against England.
