
New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India's leading public sector steelmaker, reported a robust 14% year-on-year sales increase on Saturday for the April-November 2025 period, reaching 12.7 million tonnes (MT) from 11.1 MT in the corresponding period last year.
The company attributed this strong performance to a well-crafted sales strategy that navigated challenges including price pressures, fluctuating demand, global trade uncertainties, and geopolitical tensions.Retail sales also showed impressive growth, rising 13% to 0.97 MT from 0.86 MT in April-November 2024, bolstered by nationwide brand promotion campaigns.
Notably, November alone witnessed a 27% jump in total sales and a remarkable 69% surge in retail sales year-on-year.Operating five integrated steel plants in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal with a combined annual capacity exceeding 20 million tonnes, SAIL continues to demonstrate resilience amid volatile market conditions.
