Three Indian-Origin Men Arrested After Tow-Truck Shootout in Canada


Toronto, 13 December (H.S.): Canadian authorities have arrested three Indian-origin truck drivers in connection with a violent tow-truck shootout that took place in Brampton on October 7, according to the Peel Regional Police. The suspects — Manjot Bhatti, Navjot Bhatti, and Amanjot Bhatti — were taken into custody following an extensive investigation, while a fourth suspect remains at large.

The incident occurred around 10:45 pm local time in a parking lot near McVean Drive and Castlemore Road, when two rival tow-truck groups clashed, leading to gunfire. One individual sustained minor injuries, police said.A search warrant executed on November 20 at a residence in Caledon led investigators to the three Bhatti men, who were subsequently arrested.

Manjot Bhatti faces multiple firearms-related charges, including reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, careless storage, and carrying a concealed weapon. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton and was granted bail.

Meanwhile, Navjot and Amanjot Bhatti were charged with being occupants of a vehicle that contained a firearm. Both were released with conditions and are expected to appear in court at a later date.Police are still searching for the fourth suspect, described as a South Asian male wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and white running shoes, who was caught on security footage firing the weapon.

Investigators have urged anyone with information about the suspect to contact Peel Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
