New Delhi, 11 December (H.S.): Amid ongoing operational disruptions, India’s largest airline IndiGo on Thursday announced a relief measure for passengers affected by recent flight cancellations. The airline will provide a travel voucher worth ₹10,000 to those impacted, in addition to the compensation mandated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

According to IndiGo, the vouchers will be issued to passengers whose flights were cancelled between December 3 and 5. Expressing regret, the airline acknowledged that many customers scheduled to travel on December 3, 4, and 5 were stranded for long hours at various airports, with several facing severe inconvenience due to crowding. For such passengers, IndiGo will offer travel vouchers valued at ₹10,000. These vouchers can be redeemed for any IndiGo travel within the next 12 months.

The airline clarified that this voucher is over and above the compensation already required under government guidelines. As per current norms, IndiGo must compensate passengers between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000—depending on the flight’s block time—if their flight is cancelled within 24 hours of departure.
