
Morigaon (Assam), 10 December (HS):
In a major breakthrough, Morigaon Police arrested three alleged cyber criminals during a night operation conducted at Lahorighat under the leadership of the Additional Superintendent of Police Sameeran Baishya.
According to police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Hamja, Kamal Uddin and Jahangir Alam. The team seized several documents, multiple mobile phones and other materials reportedly used for cyber fraud. Police also recovered an amount estimated at around ₹1 crore from the accused.
Investigations revealed that the trio had allegedly siphoned off about ₹15 lakh from Aditya Birla Company and are suspected to be involved in cyber frauds amounting to nearly ₹50 crore.
Meanwhile, Morigaon Police informed that 302 cyber criminals have been arrested in the district over the past three years, as part of their intensified crackdown on digital fraud.---------
