Prayagraj, 09

Nov (HS): A 15-year-old girl was slain by her parents in Kanti village, according

to authorities on Sunday. Sarita, a girl, was slain on November 5, and police

discovered her corpse among bushes in the hamlet the next day, according to

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Yadav. During the inquiry,

accused Ramesh first deceived authorities before confessing to the crime. Ramesh

informed police that he was furious with his daughter because she was in

contact with various males from the village against his concerns.

On November

5, Sarita's mother reportedly gave her sedatives, following which the duo

escorted her some 70-80 metres from their home, when Ramesh cut her neck with a

sharp-edged object, according to authorities. DCP Yadav stated that this is an

instance of honour killing. Parents were

detained and questioned.
