
Bhubaneswar, 8 November (H.S.) : At least four persons were critically injured after a state-run OSRTC bus collided head-on with a speeding truck on National Highway-149 near Rangathali under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district early Saturday morning.
The impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage to both vehicles and disrupting traffic movement along the busy route.
According to sources, the OSRTC bus was en route from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela when it rammed into an oncoming truck near Rangathali. The front sections of both vehicles were completely mangled due to the force of the impact.
Several passengers were onboard the bus at the time of the accident. Three passengers and the truck driver reportedly sustained serious injuries.
Local residents and commuters rushed to the spot to assist in rescue operations. Fire service personnel and Parjang police soon arrived and used mechanical equipment to extricate the trapped victims from the wreckage. The injured were later shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
