
Prayagraj, 06 Nov (HS): “In Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh,
a joint police team from Dhoomanganj and the Special Operations Group (SOG)
raided Beli village on Thursday morning and arrested a cattle smuggler carrying
a reward of Rs. 50,000, who was absconding in the Ravindra Pasi murder case,”
informed Deputy Commissioner of Police, City, Manish Kumar Shandilya.
He informed that the arrested accused is Nurain, son of
Jharimulla alias Hakim Ali, a resident of Rasulpur Mariadih in the Puramufti
police station area of Prayagraj district. A case of murder of Ravindra Pasi
has been registered against him in Dhoomanganj police station. He has been absconding
since the incident. Police were continuously searching for him. During the
recent encounter, he took advantage of the darkness and escaped. After which a
reward of Rs. 50,000 was offered for his arrest. Police teams were continuously
engaged in his arrest. Acting on the tip of an informer, a joint police team of
the city's SOG and Dhoomanganj police station raided Beli village and arrested
Nurain. Legal action is being taken against him. He will be sent to jail after
being produced in court. Interstingly, nearly half a dozen other accused have
been apprehended during prior encounters with police.
