
NEW DELHI, 6 November (H.S.): As polling commenced for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections across 121 seats on Thursday, top Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra issued a fervent appeal to the state's residents. They urged voters to participate robustly in what they termed the great festival of democracy to usher in a new direction for change and secure the future of the youth, farmers, and every section of society.
In a post on X, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge noted that voting had begun in Bihar, which he described as the birthplace of democracy. He called upon voters to exercise their constitutional right in large numbers and give the state a new direction for change after 20 years.
Echoing the sentiment, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra appealed to Bihar's electorate in her own post on X. My dear brothers, sisters, mothers, and youth of Bihar! Today is the day to decide your future with your own hands, she wrote.Come out in large numbers and participate in this great festival of democracy. Vote for jobs, education, health, and a bright future for Bihar.
