Churachandpur (Manipur), 06 November (HS): In a major recovery, security forces seized a significant quantity of arms and ammunition from Churachandpur district during a search operation carried out, police informed on Thursdays.
The recovered items include one 7.62 mm SLR rifle, one AK-56 rifle, one M4A1 MK II rifle with UBGL, four SLR magazines, three AK-56 magazines, two M4A1 magazines, one country-made AK magazine, ninety-nine SLR rounds, one hundred fifty-one AK-56 rounds, one Lathode and eight Lathode grenades.
Security officials said the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs. The recovery underscores ongoing efforts by the forces to curb illegal weapon movement and militant activities in the region. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the arms and identify those linked with the cache.
