PATNA, 6 November (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a significant statement on Thursday, praising the intelligence of Bihar's youth by claiming scientific data supports the idea that they possess one of the highest IQs in the world.
In an interview with a television channel, Shah said, Based on scientific data, I can say that the IQ of Bihar's youth is among the highest in the world. He highlighted Bihar's historical role in producing national leaders across politics, administration, and education.
If any state in the country has produced the most IAS, IPS, doctors, and engineers, it is Bihar, he stated. The Home Minister attributed the exceptional resilience and eagerness to learn among the state's young people to Bihar's soil and strong family values.
Every child here knows how to fight against circumstances, and that is their greatest strength, Shah added. His remarks have become a major topic of discussion in political circles. Leaders from the ruling NDA alliance are framing it as a moment of pride for Bihar, while opposition parties dismiss it as an attempt to attract young voters during an election season.
A senior JDU leader affirmed Shah's comments, stating, What Amit Shah has said is true. The intellect of Bihar's youth is second to none.
In contrast, an RJD spokesperson retorted that if the BJP is so concerned about the youth, it should take concrete steps to provide employment. The statement has resonated positively among young people in Bihar, such as Kamlesh, Mithlesh, Ajit, Neeraj, and Atulya, who have expressed pride.
Many took to social media, with one user writing, What Amit Shah said is in the heart of every Bihari. We just need the opportunity; the youth of Bihar can change not just the country, but the world.
Experts view Shah’s statement as a recognition of Bihar's intellectual heritage. Sociologist Rangnath Tiwari noted, It is true that Bihar's social fabric makes children mature early. The tendency to learn while living through hardships makes them mentally strong and analytical.
The timing of Shah's comments is critical, as they come amid a heated electoral climate in Bihar where young voters are considered a decisive demographic.
Political analyst and senior journalist Lav Kumar Mishra believes the remark is not just praise but also a strategic message to young voters about their crucial role in national politics.
Amit Shah's statement enhances Bihar's self-esteem, Mishra commented. Whether you call it an electoral statement or an acceptance of reality, the fact is that the intelligence and resilience of Bihar's youth have now received a national seal of approval.
