Cachar (Assam), 04 November (HS): The Cachar Police and BSF have intensified their crackdown on cattle smuggling. Acting on a tip-off, security forces intercepted three trucks loaded with cattle in Sonapur under Barkhola area early hours of November 4.

During the joint operation, a total of 37 smuggled Bufellow were seized from the three trucks allegedly being prepared for illegal transportation to Bangladesh.

Police have detained the three truck drivers identified as Nazim Uddin Choudhury, Hasmul Hussain and Anowar Uddin. All three are being interrogated at Barkhola Police Station.

Meanwhile, in another operation, personnel of the 170 Battalion of BSF seized eight more cattle near the Katigorah border area on Tuesday while they were being smuggled across the Bangladesh border.--------------
