New Delhi, 3 November (H.S.): Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan has conveyed his deep distress over a tragic road accident in Telangana's Rangareddy district that resulted in the deaths of at least 20 people and injured numerous others. In a message, the Vice-President extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured.

The loss of lives in the tragic road accident in Rangareddy district of Telangana is deeply distressing, Radhakrishnan stated, adding that his thoughts are with the affected people and their families during this difficult time.

The devastating incident occurred on the morning of November 3, 2025, near Chevella, when a state-run RTC bus collided head-on with a speeding gravel-laden tipper truck. Preliminary reports indicate the truck was traveling on the wrong side of the road on the Vikarabad-Hyderabad highway.

The impact of the collision was catastrophic, completely mangling the front of the bus, which was carrying over 40 passengers . The situation was worsened as gravel from the truck spilled onto the bus, trapping several passengers inside.

The victims included men, women, and a three-month-old infant .In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased person and ₹50,000 for the injured.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure the injured receive immediate and comprehensive medical care.
