Lucknow,

26 Nov (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath administered the oath of office on

the Constitution Day at a program held at Lok Bhavan. Prior to this, guests

offered flowers to the portraits of Bharat Mata and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.

A short film was also shown. Chief Minister Yogi also honored the winners of

various competitions. On Wednesday, programs were organized at all district

headquarters across the state to mark Constitution Day. At the event held at

Lok Bhavan here, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that, inspired by Prime

Minister Narendra Modi, the entire country has been organizing programs on

Constitution Day every year since 2015 on November 26. The Constituent

Assembly, formed after the elections, drafted the Constitution of India. The

Constituent Assembly, chaired by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, formed various

committees. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar played a crucial role as the chairman of

the drafting committee.

Yogi

said that the Constitution took two years, 11 months, and 18 days to draft. The

contributions of freedom fighters and experts in drafting the Constitution are

the reason our Constitution is the world's largest and unifies India's

diversity. When Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's committee presented the original

copy of the Constitution to the Constituent Assembly, he stated that the

Constitution is a document that will guide the country in unifying India's

diversity.

There

can be no rights without duties: Yogi said that today, every institution and panchayat

has organized such events to recite the Preamble of the Constitution. On

Constitution Day in 2015, PM Modi said that every one of us is a citizen of

independent India, but the true value of freedom is being forgotten because we

did not witness the struggle for independence with our own eyes. We did not

endure brutal torture. As a result, everyone talks only about rights. Rights

are secured when individuals develop the habit of discharging their duties.

There can be no rights without duty. Where there is an attempt to obtain rights

without duty, there is no democracy; rather, dictators take control of the

system and trample the fundamental rights of ordinary citizens.

Every

citizen should join Panchpran for a developed and self-reliant India: The Chief

Minister said that after the Constitution came into force, India respected it

as supreme. Freedom fighters and symbols were respected and efforts were made

to make the basic sentiments on which the Indian Constitution was built, a part

of life. When a country progresses by respecting the basic sentiments, then no

one can stop it from developing. In the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, Prime

Minister Modi presented the concept of a developed India before the countrymen.

For this, Prime Minister Modi called upon every citizen to join the Panchpran

for a developed and self-reliant India. Referring to the Panchpran, the Chief

Minister said that every person should be free from the mentality of slavery.

Uniformed soldiers should have a sense of respect towards the soldiers of the

army, paramilitary and police forces.

Yogi

said that if we disrespect the Constitution of India, it is an insult to Baba

Saheb, the freedom fighters and martyrs, and the poor, who have gained

democratic rights through the power of the Constitution, and to the half of the

population, who were granted the right to vote in the very first general

election by the Constitution.

He

said that every Indian should have a copy of the Constitution in their home.

Its Preamble should be read in every family. The Chief Minister discussed the

essence of the Preamble and its spirit. He said that the original Constitution

of India also includes a picture of Lord Shri Ram traveling to Ayodhya in a

Pushpak Viman with Mother Sita and the teachings of the Gita by Lord Krishna

during the Mahabharata war. Portraits of great personalities including Mahatma

Buddha and Emperor Ashoka also provide an opportunity to feel pride in India's

heritage. These things show that the Constitution is trying to instill a sense

of respect for heritage, but even today we seem to be turning away from those

things.

On

this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, Yogi

Government ministers Suresh Khanna, Surya Pratap Shahi, Dara Singh Chauhan,

Dharampal Singh, Dharamveer Prajapati, Baldev Singh Aulakh, Danish Azad Ansari,

Mayor Sushma Kharwal, Chairman of Scheduled Castes and Tribes Commission

Baijnath Rawat etc. were present.
