Jammu, 26 November (H.S.): Jammu and Kashmir Government today constituted Task Force for the rehabilitation of victims of drug abuse.

According to a Government order issued today, the Task Force will be headed by the Administrative Secretary of the Home Department, with the Administrative Secretaries of the Finance, General Administration, Skill Development, Labour and Employment, and School Education Departments as members.

The Director General of Economics and Statistics and the Director Colleges J&K, are also part of the panel, while the Administrative Secretary of the Social Welfare Department will function as the Member Secretary.

The Task Force has been mandated to review existing policies, recommend measures to strengthen rehabilitation mechanisms, monitor creation of a comprehensive rehabilitation framework, ensure inter-departmental coordination, assess infrastructure gaps, and facilitate initiatives ranging from counselling and livelihood support to reintegration and post-care monitoring.

It will also oversee linkages with community institutions, promotion of educational initiatives, strengthening of data systems, and mechanisms for private sector and CSR partnerships. The Social Welfare Department will service the Committee.
