Birbhum, 26 November (H.S.): Two people were seriously injured in an explosion while unloading an oxygen cylinder from a vehicle in Rampurhat of Birbhum district on Wednesday morning. The explosion was so devastating that the arms and legs of both were severed from their bodies and thrown approximately 50 feet away. The injured were immediately admitted to Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical.

According to police and local sources, oxygen cylinders were being unloaded at a shop in Ward No. 8, located along National Highway 14, at around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Lorry driver Abu Talib and helper Ujir Hussain were unloading the cylinders when one of the cylinders suddenly slipped from their hands, fell to the ground, and immediately exploded with a loud bang.

The explosion was so powerful that one of Abu Talib's arms and one of Ujir Hussain's legs were severed from their bodies and fell far away. The sound of the explosion shook the entire area, and people rushed to the scene. Everyone was stunned by the accident.

Local residents immediately rushed the injured to the hospital. Doctors say both are in critical condition. Police arrived at the scene and began investigating the incident.

The police are investigating the entire incident to determine if there were any lapses in the quality and safety standards of the cylinder.
