Nagpur, 26 Nov (HS): Maharashtra Association of Resident

Doctors (MARD) unit of Nagpur’s Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and

Hospital has lodged a complaint againsgt Head of the Department of Forensic

Sciences Dr Makrant Vyavahare, for mental physical harassment of the Resident

Doctors. Besides lodging a complaint with the Dean of the College MARD also

approached the Commissioner of Police demanding immediate action against Dr

Vyavahare.

MARD, I its complaint has alleged mental and sexual

harassment of a doctor and abuse of power vested in him as HoD. A similar

complaint was made by the students in 2013.

MARD has demanded suspension of Dr Vyavahare pending

enquiry against him, and the enquiry should be conducted by an outsider. The

WhatsApp messages, e-mails and CCTV footage should be preserved for the

enquiry. The enquiry should be completed within seven days or the MAR will

intensify their agitation.

Meanwhile, Dr Vyavahare has been sent on leave.
