Mumbai, 26 Nov (HS): Five people were arrested for

inviting a youth around midnight for celebrating birthday and setting him afire.

All of them were remanded to police custody up to November 29. The incident occurred

in Kohinoor Phase-3 Society in Kulra region of Mumbai. Police are investigating

further.

According to police, the victim Abul Rahman Maqsud

was his five friends around midnight of November 25 to celebrate his birthday.

Abul cut the cake, following which the accused pelted stones and eggs at him. Later

they sprinkled petrol upon him and set him on fire. On getting information

police rushed to the site and shifted Abdul to Rajawadi Hospital, Meanwhile,

the accused fled the spot. Based on CCTV footage police arrested for accused,

Ayaz Malik, Ashraf Malik, Qasim Choudhary, Hufeza Khan and Sharif Sheikh. All

were taken to Vinoba Bhave Nagar Police Station and were presented before the

court on November 26. Pllice obtained their custody up to November 29 for interrogation.
