
Mumbai, 26 Nov (HS): Veteran thinker, economist and former Chairman of the
University Grants Commission Dr Sukhdev Thorat will be honoured with Samta
Award by Akhi Bharatiya Mahatma Phuke Samta Parishad on the death anniversary
of social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The award of Rs 1 lakh, a Phule
Turban, Citation and a memento will be conferred upon Dr Sukhdev during a
function at Samta Bhoomi, Phule Wada, Pune at 9.30 am on November 28.
Deputy
Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, National President
of the host organisation Chhagar Bhujbal, MLC Pankaj Bhujbal, Working President
and former MP Sameer Bhujbal will be the guests of honour. A large number of
Samta Sainik will attend the event.
