Kheri, 26 Nov (HS): Five people have died in a road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri
district, Uttar Pradesh. According to local police, the car was traveling from
Lakhimpur to Bahraich when it plunged into a river. The driver was rescued, but
five people died. A
horrific road accident took place after midnight on Tuesday in Lakhimpur Kheri
district of Uttar Pradesh, a car went out of control and fell into the river.
Five out of six people travelling in the car died tragically in this accident,
while the driver is injured and has been admitted to the hospital.
A
heart-wrenching road accident took place late last night near Sharda Siphon,
located before Girjapuri Barrage in Padhua police station area. An Alto car
returning from a wedding ceremony went out of control and fell into Sharda Siphon,
due to which five people travelling in the car died on the spot, while the
driver was rescued in critical condition. The accident took place late on Tuesday
night around 12 o'clock.
According
to Padhua police station in-charge Abhishek Singh, the people travelling in the
car, Jitendra son of Vipin Bihari resident of Ghaghra Barrage, Ghanshyam son of
Ballu resident of Ghaghra Barrage, Lalji son of Meva Lal resident of Sisian
Purva, Azimullah son of unknown resident of Girjapuri, Surendra son of Vishusokha
resident of Ramvriksha Purva police station Sujauli district Bahraich, were
returning to Bahraich district by car after attending a wedding in Lakhimpur.
On the way, near Sharda siphon, the driver fell asleep while driving and lost
control of the vehicle and fell straight into the siphon.
Upon
receiving the information, Padhua Station House Officer Abhishek Singh arrived
at the scene with his team and launched a rescue operation. The driver, Bablu,
son of Rajesh, a resident of Girjapuri, Sujauli police station, Bahraich
district, was pulled out by the police and sent for first aid, where his
condition is said to be out of danger. Five other people in the car drowned in
the river. Police retrieved the bodies and sent them to Lakhimpur for
post-mortem examination.

Investigation
continues: Police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them for
post-mortem examination. Police are conducting a thorough investigation to
determine the cause of this tragic accident. Initially, the car's loss of
control is believed to be the cause of the accident, but the underlying cause
is being investigated. The local administration has expressed its deepest
condolences to the families of the victims and assured them of all possible
assistance.
