Hyderabad, 25 November (H.S.): The State Election Commission of Telangana on Tuesday released the official gazette notification for the upcoming Panchayat elections. State Election Commissioner Rani Kumidini announced that polling will be conducted in three phases on December 11, 14 and 17.

According to the SEC, more than 1.66 crore voters are registered to participate in the elections across the state.

Kumidini said that the election schedule announced earlier on 29 September had been put on hold due to unspecified reasons, but the revived schedule is now final. With the notification issued, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect across all poll-bound areas.

The Commission has appointed election observers to ensure smooth conduct of the process. Polling will be held across 31 districts in three phases, and preparations are currently underway at the district and mandal levels.

More details regarding polling arrangements, nomination procedures, and security measures are expected to be released soon by the Election Commission.
