Delhi, 25 November (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate Indian space startup Skyroot Aerospace's 'Infinity Campus' on Thursday, November 27, at 11 a.m. via video conferencing. During the event, he will also unveil the company's first orbital rocket, the Vikram-I, which is capable of launching satellites into orbit.

The new state-of-the-art facility boasts a 200,000-square-foot workspace dedicated to the design, development, integration, and testing of multiple launch vehicles. The campus is equipped to produce one orbital rocket per month, significantly enhancing India's private space capabilities.

Skyroot Aerospace, founded by former ISRO scientists and IIT alumni Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka, has established itself as a leader in India's private space sector. In November 2022, the company made history by launching its sub-orbital rocket, Vikram-S, becoming the first private Indian company to launch a rocket into space.

The Vikram-I, an all-carbon-fiber-bodied rocket, represents the next stage in their ambitious plans, designed to place multiple satellites into low Earth orbit. The rapid emergence of private space enterprises like Skyroot is a direct result of the transformative reforms initiated by the government in recent years. These reforms have opened up the space sector to private participation, reinforcing India’s position as a confident and capable global space power.
