on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Shri Narendra Kashyap, Minister of State
(Independent Charge) for Backward Class Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with
Disabilities, in Room No. 7, Naveen Bhawan, Lok Bhawan, Lucknow. The progress
of schemes of both departments, budget expenditure, disposal of pending cases
and preparations for upcoming programs were reviewed in detail.
The
Minister stated that any kind of negligence or delay in implementation of
schemes is unacceptable, and it must be ensured that every deserving
beneficiary receives the benefits without delay and without discrimination.
He
informed that on the occasion of World Disability Day (3rd December), a
State-Level Program will be organized from 03 to 05 December at Indira Gandhi
Pratishthan, Lucknow. Special programs will also be conducted at both the
disability universities — Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation
University, Lucknow and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University,
Chitrakoot. Enrollment in these universities has increased significantly, and
the construction of new hostels will accelerate this further. The Minister also
instructed that district-level motorized tricycle distribution programs be held
simultaneously across the state.
Reviewing
the schemes of the Backward Class Welfare Department — Scholarship/Fee
Reimbursement, Marriage Grant, and Computer Training (CCC/O-Level) — the
Minister directed that eligible students must receive scholarship and fee
reimbursement in a timely manner, CCC/O-Level reimbursements must be ensured
directly into correct bank accounts, and all pending marriage grant cases be
cleared immediately. He also directed wide-scale awareness of schemes up to the
village level.
He
further emphasized that no compromise on quality in departmental construction
work will be tolerated, and strict continuous monitoring must be ensured. The
Minister added that the Yogi Government’s clear intention is that no eligible
person with disability or backward class beneficiary should be deprived of
welfare schemes. He said the government’s initiatives are bringing positive
