Jalgaon, 25 Nov (HS): The work on laying 160 km third

railway line between Jaigaon and Manmad stations has been completed by the

Central Railway. The final test of the track was completed and it will be

operational soon. The third lane will ease the traffic flow on the busy

sections on the Mubai-Howrah route. The test was carried out after completion

of Pimpalgaon-Nandgaon section of 19.4 km, under the supervision of Chief

Security Commissioner Manoj Arora.

The Electric Locomotive used for testing

successfully ran at a speed of 131 km per hour during the test drive. More than

12 long route trains pass through the section, which was completed in four

phases. The work was expected to be completed by March 2024, but faced several

difficulties. It has 304 small and 22 major bridges. While laying the third

line arrangements for the proposed fourth lane have been made,
