Lucknow,

25 Nov (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Tuesday

that Sikh gurus and their descendants have given their lives for the saffron

flag, which was raised atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple this morning. Today,

the saffron flag of India's'sanatan' was raised on top of the magnificent

temple of Lord Ram at Ram Janmabhoomi (in Ayodhya), following the conclusion of

building work. This is the saffron flag

raised on the summit of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, for which the Sikh gurus and

their descendants gave their lives, Adityanath stated. Adityanath was speaking

at a gathering in Lucknow to commemorate Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh

Guru's 350th martyrdom day.

Between

1510 and 1515, the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj, visited the Shri

Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya Dham, and in 1528, the temple was damaged by

a soldier of a foreign invader named Babar. Adityanath stated that when Guru

Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj saw Babar's crimes, he labeled him a 'jawar' and firmly

denounced his conduct. He

went on to say that anytime there was a fight for the Ram Janmabhoomi in

Ayodhya, Sikh Gurus, Sikh soldiers, Nihangs, saints, monarchs, simple citizens,

mothers, and sisters were always willing to give their lives. Referring to

religion, Adityanath stated, One thing we must all remember about

Ayodhya. Empires came and went. Generations have come and gone. But the one thing that stayed consistent was

trust.

And

that faith has once again been a witness to the magnificent 'yagya' of

finishing the construction of Lord Ram's huge temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in

Ayodhya after 500 years, and the same faith is seen here today. Adityanath's comments come hours after Prime

Minister Narendra Modi declared on Tuesday that the sorrows and agony of ages

are mending as a 500-year-old resolve is finally realized with the ceremonial

completion of the Ram temple here. Modi made the statements after ceremonially

placing a saffron flag atop the Ram temple, signaling the shrine's official

completion. He was accompanied by RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh

Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
