
New Delhi, 24 November (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a historic flag-hoisting ceremony on Tuesday at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, marking the completion of the temple's construction. The momentous occasion will coincide with the auspicious Vivah Panchami, symbolizing the divine union of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.
Ceremonial Itinerary
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Ayodhya on November 25, where he will be received by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath . At approximately 10:00 AM, Modi will visit the Saptmandir complex, which houses temples dedicated to Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Maharshi Valmiki, Devi Ahilya, Nishadraj Guha, and Mata Shabari.
Subsequently, he will proceed to the Sheshavtar Mandir.Around 11:00 AM, the Prime Minister will visit the Mata Annapurna Mandir, followed by darshan and pooja at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah, and then darshan at the Ram Lalla Garbh Grah. At approximately noon, during the Abhijit Muhurat, Modi will ceremonially hoist the sacred saffron flag atop the temple's shikhar, symbolizing a new chapter of cultural celebration and national unity.
Significance of the Sacred Flag
The right-angled triangular flag measures ten feet in height and twenty feet in length, featuring the image of a radiant sun that embodies the brilliance and valour of Lord Ram. The flag bears the sacred 'Om' inscription alongside an image of the Kovidara tree, conveying a message of dignity, unity, and cultural continuity that reflects the ideals of Ram Rajya.
The flag will be raised atop the shikhar, constructed in the traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style, while the surrounding 800-metre parkota—a circumambulatory enclosure designed in the South Indian architectural tradition—showcases the temple's architectural diversity.
The temple complex features 87 intricately carved stone panels depicting episodes from Lord Ram's life based on the Valmiki Ramayana, along with 79 bronze narratives connected to Indian culture.
