New Delhi, 24 November (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to India today after completing a three-day visit to South Africa, where he participated in the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. During the summit, he advocated for a global agreement to regulate Artificial Intelligence (AI), emphasizing that critical technologies must remain human-centric rather than finance-focused.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister posted on X, stating that a successful Johannesburg G20 Summit will contribute to a more prosperous and sustainable planet. He described his meetings with world leaders as highly productive and noted they will deepen India's bilateral relationships. He also expressed his gratitude to the people of South Africa, President Cyril Ramaphosa, and the South African government for organizing the conference.

In a separate post on X, the Prime Minister shared his experience of a moving performance of the South African indentured song 'Ganga Maiya' in Johannesburg. Listening to this song in Tamil was a unique experience in itself, he wrote, reflecting on the hope and resilience of those who arrived in South Africa decades ago. He noted that despite facing immense challenges, they kept India in their hearts through songs and hymns, describing the vibrant cultural connection to their roots as overwhelming.
