
Jammu, 24 November (H.S.): The Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh NCC Directorate today marked the 78th NCC Raising Day with solemn wreath-laying ceremonies held at Balidaan Stambh in Jammu and at five other locations across Jammu, Udhampur and Reasi districts.
The main ceremony at Balidaan Stambh was organised by 2 J&K Battalion NCC under the aegis of NCC Group Jammu.
Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli, Additional Director General of the JK&L Directorate, attended the event along with officers of NCC Group Jammu, associate NCC officers, staff members and cadets.
Participants paid homage to the fallen heroes by laying wreaths at the memorial, remembering the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The atmosphere remained solemn as cadets and officers observed a two-minute silence in honour of the bravehearts.
Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Bevli expressed gratitude for the dedication and courage of the armed forces.
He said the NCC Raising Day is an important reminder of the values of honour, duty and patriotism.
The ceremonies highlighted the NCC’s role in promoting discipline, leadership and national pride among young cadets.
The event concluded with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” reaffirming respect for the sacrifices made to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
