Bhubaneswar, 24 November (H.S.) : The Commissionerate Police has finalised an extensive security plan ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Odisha on November 27. A stringent four-tier security arrangement will be deployed, with enhanced protection around the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

President Murmu will address the inaugural winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly on November 27, becoming the first President of India to address any state Assembly.

To ensure her safety, 25 platoons of police force have been mobilised. While the Commissionerate Police will manage a three-tier security system, the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) commandos and other specialised security units will provide an additional layer of protection. said an senior Police officials.

Key locations including Biju Patnaik International Airport, Raj Bhawan, and the Odisha Legislative Assembly will remain on high alert from November 27 to 28. Five DCP-ranked officers will oversee the overall security arrangements, supported by five ACPs, 20 Inspectors, and 30 other senior officers.

The Traffic Police has been entrusted with managing vehicular movement, and five platoons of police personnel will be deployed for route lining. A full-dress rehearsal of the President’s cavalcade will take place on November 26. Bomb squads and sniffer dog units will also be engaged to detect any suspicious materials.

In addition, the police have made preparations for crowd control and intelligence gathering to ensure the President’s visit proceeds smoothly and securely.
