South 24 Paragnas, 24 November (H.S.): A two-story shop and warehouse near Gonderhat area in Jaynagar in South 24 Paragnas district were completely gutted in a fire early Monday morning. The fire was brought under control with the help of two fire engines, but by then, significant damage had been caused.

As per information, some locals heading to catch a train to South Barasat station early in the morning saw flames rising from Narayan Gayen's roadside dry flower shop and warehouse in the Raynagar area. The fire was so devastating that the entire building burned down in no time. Hearing the screams and noise, nearby residents woke up and immediately informed the fire department. Two fire engines arrived at the scene and, after extensive efforts, the fire was brought under control. However, by then, all the goods stored in the shop and warehouse had been completely destroyed. The cause of the fire was unknown at the time of filing of the news. The police and the fire department are investigating the cause.

According to locals, the fire was so intense that the entire building was reduced to ashes within minutes.
