Beed, 23 November (H.S.): The mobile phone of NCP MLA Sana Malik briefly went missing while she was campaigning for the Beed municipal council elections, creating concern that the device may have been stolen. The incident occurred on Friday evening in the Gandhinagar area, party officials said on Sunday.
Malik, who represents Mumbai's Anushaktinagar constituency, was in Beed to inaugurate a campaign office for the upcoming local body polls when the phone was reportedly misplaced. Party workers said the sudden disappearance of the device caused anxiety among supporters and security personnel.
An immediate search was launched, and the matter was reported to the police. However, the tension eased when the phone was recovered within an hour.
According to officials, a child found the phone and handed it over to staff at the Pethbeed police station. The device was later returned to Malik’s team, bringing an end to the brief scare.
