Guwahati, 23 November (HS): A man killed on the spot after being hit by a speeding motorcycle in the Maligaon area of Guwahati. Police said on Sunday that the incident occurred in the Baripara locality, where the victim was flung a considerable distance due to the high impact.

The deceased has been identified as Mantu Das.

According to officials, the motorcyclist fled the scene with the bike immediately after the accident. Police are scanning CCTV footage to trace the vehicle and the rider. However, the absence of a number plate on the motorcycle has made the investigation challenging.

The body has been sent to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a preliminary case and initiated further investigation.---------------
