Patna/Delhi, 23 November (H.S.): AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has said that his party is prepared to offer “full cooperation” to the NDA government in Bihar, provided Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ensures justice for the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region and keeps “communalism” at bay. Owaisi made the remarks during his two-day tour of Seemanchal, from where five AIMIM candidates won in the recent assembly polls.
Owaisi said that AIMIM’s support would depend on the government’s commitment to upliftment of Seemanchal, which he claimed has long been neglected in terms of development and basic facilities. “We extend good wishes to the new government formed in Patna. We can promise full cooperation if it does justice to Seemanchal and keeps communalism under control,” he said. He stressed that justice should safeguard all communities, including Hindus, Muslims, Dalits and tribal groups.
Targeting the previous governments, Owaisi remarked that AIMIM has always fought for the rights of all sections living in Seemanchal. He urged the state administration to focus on regions beyond Patna and Rajgir, which he accused of receiving disproportionate attention and investment, including projects such as an international cricket stadium and a film city.
The AIMIM leader also took a swipe at the RJD, saying it failed to stop the BJP despite seeking Muslim support. He hinted that the INDIA bloc should reconsider its traditional MY (Muslim-Yadav) strategy. The RJD’s performance in the polls fell sharply to 25 seats, one-third of its previous tally of 75.
