Delhi, 23 November (H.S.): Indian star shuttler Lakshya Sen clinched the Australian Open 2025 men's singles title on Sunday, marking a triumphant return to form with his first BWF World Tour crown of the year.

The 24-year-old put on a commanding performance in the Super 500 final, defeating Japan's Yushi Tanaka in straight sets, 21-15, 21-11.In a match that lasted just 38 minutes, Sen displayed superior control and aggression from the outset. He established an early lead in the first set and successfully thwarted a brief comeback attempt from Tanaka to close it out 21-15.

The second set saw even greater dominance from the Indian, as he gave his opponent no opportunity to settle into a rhythm, sealing the championship with a comfortable 21-11 victory. This victory is Sen's third career Super 500 title and serves as a powerful statement after a challenging period.

The shuttler had been struggling with his form for much of the year, following a fourth-place finish at the Paris Olympics in 2024 where he narrowly missed out on a medal. The win in Australia signals a significant resurgence for the Indian player. His improved performance was evident in September when he reached the finals of the Hong Kong Open Super 500, ultimately finishing as the runner-up. By making no mistake this time, Sen has emphatically ended his title drought and capped his season on a high note.
