
New Delhi /Johannesburg, 22 November (H.S.): Following a dynamic first day of economic and diaspora engagements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to join world leaders on Saturday for the main sessions of the 20th G20 Leaders' Summit.
The day's agenda is packed with high-level discussions centered on the theme Solidarity, Equality, and Sustainability, as leaders tackle the world's most pressing challenges at the first-ever G20 summit held on African soil.The Saturday itinerary features three crucial working sessions where Prime Minister Modi is expected to deliver keynote addresses.
The sessions are titled: Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth Leaving No One Behind, A Resilient World – the G20’s Contribution, and A Fair and a Just Future for All. These discussions will cover a wide spectrum of issues including financing for development, disaster risk reduction, just energy transitions, food security, the regulation of critical minerals, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence.
Throughout the day, PM Modi is expected to champion the priorities of the Global South and articulate India's perspective in line with its own vision of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (One Earth, One Family, One Future).
Key focus areas will include continuing the momentum from the New Delhi Leaders' Declaration on digital public infrastructure, women-led development, and accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In addition to the main plenary sessions, the Prime Minister's schedule includes a series of important bilateral meetings with other world leaders on the sidelines of the summit to discuss issues of mutual interest. The day will also see the convening of the 6th IBSA (India-Brazil-South Africa) Summit, providing a platform for the leaders of these three major emerging economies to align their strategies on global issues.
