Man found dead in Kolkata hotel


Kolkata, 22 November (H.S.): The dead body of an unidentified man was recovered in a hotel room in Rajdanga area under Kasba police station area in Kolkata on Saturday. The police have launched an investigation to determine the identity and cause of death.

Given the seriousness of the incident, the police have cordoned off the hotel premises. Forensic experts and a dog squad have arrived and are conducting a thorough examination of the room.

According to police sources, three young men were staying at the hotel on Friday night. Two of the men left late that night, while the third remained in the room. On Saturday afternoon, hotel staff, upon smelling a foul odor, opened the door and found the man dead.

The deceased is said to be a businessman.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased man was involved in business. An Aadhaar card was recovered, but it has not been confirmed whether it belongs to the deceased. The police are investigating the authenticity of the Aadhaar card and the identity of the deceased.

The cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report is received. The police are currently investigating all aspects of the case, considering it a suspicious death.
