
Pune, 21 Nov (HS): Union Minister for Highways Nitin Gadkari has directed the
National Highways Authority to take immediate steps to prevent accidents in the
Navle Bridge in Pune on the Pune Bengaluru Highway. Gadkari said that the ‘Black
Spots’ in the area should be identified. The information was given by The Union
Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, who is MP from Pune.
Mohol, on Wednesday, discussed the
problems about the accident-prone area in Pune with Gadkari in Delhi. The
issues discussed include permanent solution to prevent accidents, required
changes in the road by NHA, technical inspections of vehicles by RTO on toll
booths, ensuring speed limit, display of sign boards indicating danger during
travel etc.
Following the meeting Gadkari issued
directions to the NHA to take steps immediately to prevent accidents in the
Navle Bridge region in Pune. Eight people had died in an accident on the spot a
few days ago.
